Holly Payne's most recent novel Kingdom of Simplicity was written as a response to the drunk driver who left her unable to walk for a year and asked for her forgiveness. She is also the author of The Sound of Blue and The Virgin's Knot, her debut novel, published in 9 countries and selected as a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers and a Border's Original Voices book.

She is a private writing coach, screenwriter and founder of Skywriter Series Writing Workshops and Retreats, and Skywriter Books, a publishing consultancy.

She received a MFA from the Master of Professional Writing Program at USC and is currently at work on a novel of historical fiction and the film adaptation for Kingdom of Simplicity. She lives with her husband and daughter in Northern California.
